Hello! I am new here and I am going to get my story short and precise.

I have a really nice boss and she's been so considerate to me all along. To make it short I got into trouble at work several days ago and she's the type of boss that she'll make you feel bad whenever you're in trouble, well that's as far as I know her. Prior to that event I already put up a notice asking her if I can get off for my doctor's appointment. She said yes and wanted me to get it done as early in the morning as I could and was also implying that she wants me back that afternoon, seriously. I was thinking I'll come back but then I changed my mind because I was just so upset at work and I wanted to unwind. The thing is I am all done in my work so I don't need to worry about taking a whole day off. Plus I was using my sick time. Well when I came back to work the next day after that appointment she was throwing tantrum at me and doesn't wanna talk to me at all. I have a feeling this is something personal.

Any opinions and comments are welcome! Thanks!

To understand your boss you should understand his/her likes and dislikes. To know this you need to build good rapport with them, ask them open ended questions and let them speak more..When you build good rapport they automatically will start trusting you. This will enable you to get close with them. Once you have built rapport start asking open ended questions to your boss. For example:- How do you handle the job with a calm mind?, What are the biggest challenges you had to face in your career?, What is the goal you have for our company and yourself?. All these questions will make him/her open up. Listen very carefully to their language pattern, body language, tone and pitch.
